Product Description

Envisioned and named after the famous Astronomer, Galileo Galilei, these thermometers look great and use an almost 500 year old method or measuring the temperature.

How does it work?

The thermometer is made of a sealed glass cylinder containing a clear liquid and several glass vessels of varying densities. As the temperature changes, the individual glass vessels rise or fall in proportion to their respective density. The lowest suspended vessel in the cylinder implies the right temperature. Any vessel that has either sunk all the way to the bottom, or floated all the way to the top should be disregarded.

For Example, in the product photograph to the left, the thermometer implies the temperature is 22°C, as the vessel with the 22°C tag is floating in roughly the middle of the cylinder.
